You can get close to the riverbank and sometimes even go behind the waterfall to see the flowing up closer.
A memorial hall located at the birthplace of Kitasato Shibasaburo, a world-famous medical scientist known for his research on the tetanus bacillus. The grounds on the hill include part of the housewhere Dr.Kitasato was born, a residence for him when he returned home and a guesthouse built to entertain VIP guests and the library, Kitasato Bunko Collection that he built with his hometown.There are all preserved and open to the public.

The Kokonoe Yume Suspension Bridnge, Kokonoe Town, is about 173m high and 390m long making it the tallest Suspensiong Bridge in Japan for pedestrians only The view from the bridge is spectacular, offering vistas of 'Shindou-no-Taki,' one of Japan's Top 100 Waterfalls, as well as the renowned spots of fresh greenery and autumn foliage at 'Kusuikei.'
Oike is locate at the foot of Mount Kurodake, a hot spring where water filtered over a long period by Mount Kurodake, serving as the source of the Aso River. It has been certified by the Ministry of Environment as one of the "100 Famous Waters of Japan and "15 Famous Waters Of Toyo Province".With an average flow rate of 14 tons per minute and 20,000 tons per day, the spring is busitling with peoplewho gather to draw water on holidays
